Mailpoet 3 is Here

The New MailPoet is Finally Here (and It Comes with a Free Sending Plan!)

Today, after nearly two years of development, we are officially releasing the new version of MailPoet. Not only is it new and improved, it also comes with a free plan to send unlimited emails to up to 2,000 subscribers.

That’s right – MailPoet now offers an (optional) email sending service. This solves our users’ most common issue: emails going to the spam box, not the inbox. Intrigued? You can sign up to the sending service from directly within your MailPoet 3 plugin or on our website.

This two-minute video gives a good overview of the new plugin:

Great Features at a Great Value

What’s new in MailPoet 3? Well, pretty much everything. The user experience has been redesigned and simplified. At its core, the new plugin is a new step forward and a clear break from the past.

The free version is still very powerful. Our Premium plan starts at just $10 with the sending service included, meaning that we’re more accessible than ever.

The new plugin is available on the WordPress Repository and is a separate plugin to our previous (MailPoet 2) version. What will happen to the old version of MailPoet? Check out our FAQ on the topic.

The Experience Leaps Forward

MailPoet strikes the ideal balance between simplicity and power. This is what made us the most popular email plugin in WordPress, after all. Rest assured, we won’t be changing this philosophy any time soon!

At the center of the MailPoet user experience is our new email designer. Back in 2011, MailPoet was the first to bring a drag-and-drop email designer to WordPress. Yet again, our new designer sets a new standard in simplicity and inclusiveness. We avoided adding too many options, in order to maintain the ease-of-use that our users have come to expect.

As you would expect, the designer offers a variety of widgets: WordPress posts, images, buttons, dividers, headers and footers. Layouts can be 1, 2 or 3 columns wide.

Plus, all of our templates are now free. They offer a variety of designs to help inspire you, our users. Naturally, all templates are completely responsive and display perfectly across all mobile devices.

A Familiar Interface

MailPoet is a production tool for many of our users. It is used every month, every week, or even every day by thousands of people around the world. With this in mind, we made sure that the user interface was extremely fast and intuitive to use.

Although the plugin has been rebuilt from the ground up, we haven’t totally broken away from the previous version of MailPoet. Previous users will find the switch natural.

Don’t take our word for it!

Finally, we lowered the number of options in the Settings panel, to cut down initial configuration time and get you sending as quickly as possible.

Now Delivering: Your Emails

MailPoet

We are now offering our own sending service. It’s completely optional and you can still send with your own website, SMTP server, or third-party sender, if you so choose.

Why did we build our own sending service? Over a third of our users have experienced issues with delivering their emails to their subscribers’ inboxes. To put it simply, the science of deliverability is complicated. Fraught with ancient technologies, confusing terminology, and a steep learning curve, it isn’t for the weekend warriors.

Chances are, you probably don’t have time to understand any of this. You have businesses to run, projects to complete, and content to deliver to your subscribers.

The Speciality of the House

We built our own sending infrastructure in-house in order to own the entire process, from beginning to end. We manage our own sending reputation with some of the best consultants in the industry – without ever relying on a third party’s infrastructure. This means we have a 98% successful delivery rate (one of the highest in the industry!) that we monitor and maintain daily.

Our technology enables big senders to reach sending speeds of 50,000 emails per hour. Quite an achievement in terms of performance, if we say so ourselves!

Take a look at the comparison table of sending methods for more information.

More Features for Free + Affordable Prices

Did you know that nearly 98% of our users use MailPoet for free? The new MailPoet continues this tradition of offering a great plugin completely for free.

Starting today, we’re offering a plan to send unlimited emails to up to 2,000 subscribers for free, no strings attached. We’re thrilled to offer it for free, as it will benefit the overwhelming majority of our users. As we mentioned above, we’ve created a comparison table of sending methods to help you understand the benefits of sending with us.

Users can sign up directly from the MailPoet > Settings page. It only takes a few minutes and requires no configuration other than entering a single key code.

Our offering now includes monthly packages that start at $10 per month (for up to 500 subscribers). This introductory plan includes the Premium features and the MailPoet Sending Service. Plus, if you pay annually, you’ll get 2 months for free.

If you’re not interested in the sending service, that’s okay too. Not a problem. The Premium plugin is still available. Pricing starts at $99 for a single website and includes updates and support for 1 year.

What Will Happen to the Old MailPoet?

It’s here to stay. It’s still available on the WordPress plugin repository and we will continue to provide support for Premium customers. All licenses for the old MailPoet will automatically extend to the new version.

Read the FAQ on Version 2 to find out the answers to most of your questions.

Some features in the Premium and Free version have been changed. Take a look at the comparison table of the 2 versions.

Customize Your Plugin with Add-ons

The new MailPoet works with over a dozen add-ons, themes, page builders and plugins, including Bloom, WooCommerce and Gravity forms. Read the full list.

What’s Up Next?

What’s up next? It’s top-secret for now. Yes, yes, tools for resizing images are coming soon (by popular request!) Join our mailing list to stay updated with the latest news and features.

DISCUSSION

Is there any chance that the new mailpoet will work with multisite?

Michaela, it does work in Multisite. We simply won’t officially support yet.

Why? Some instances of MS are fairly large (tens of thousands of websites!) with heavy traffic. These case scenarios need special care which we’re not in a position to cater for at the moment.

When will we be fully MS compliant and supported? We don’t know now and it’s for the moment a low priority.

What should you do next? Try MailPoet on your MS and see if it works. It’s good to have a developer handy just in case you need further help.

I use MailPoet 3 as plug-in in my WordPress-blog since a couple of weeks and it worked fine.
This morning, I wanted to install the latest update.
As a result, the whole installation crashed and my homepage cannot be reached any more since a couple of hours.
My webhost (Hoststar) is actually trying to restore the page from a backup.
Is there anything else I can do?
    Kind regards
    Peter

Peter, sorry to hear your site went down. :/

There can be various reasons for that and without properly investigating, we wouldn’t know. This said, your issue appears to be an isolated incident. If it occurs again, please do let us know.

Peter is not alone in this. Same thing happened to me today, and now I only see this line when being logged in to my website. At Least visitors can see it fine, but I can’t do anything now as admin.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function MailPoet\Config\wp_add_inline_script() in /home/teodosijevic/public_html/assets/plugins/mailpoet/lib/Config/Widget.php on line 117

PS I am a premium user for couple of years now.

It’s OK Kim, I have deleted plugin from FTP, than updated my WordPress, installed MP3 again and it works just fine now.

BTW, I must say that your MailPoet sending service is too expensive!
Third party sender like MailGun is waaaay cheaper. Even MailChimp.
    Why is it so?

    Author’s gravatar

Boris, our sending service is indeed a little pricier. Here’s why:

    – you can send unlimited emails
    – excellent deliverability
    – direct support on deliverability issues, if needed.
    – we send at unparalleled speed thanks to our own technology
    – bounce handling is included and requires no additional configuration
    – ease of configuration
    – soon, we will also route your WordPress emails

You can still plug MailPoet with a third party. If cost is your main concern, you’ll always have other options!

I have the same problem :(. First I got this notice: Warning: require_once(/mnt/web014/d2/23/57206023/htdocs/WordPress_SecureMode_01/wp-content/plugins/mailpoet/vendor/composer/autoload_real.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /mnt/web014/d2/23/57206023/htdocs/WordPress_SecureMode_01/wp-content/plugins/mailpoet/vendor/autoload.php on line 5 Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/mnt/web014/d2/23/57206023/htdocs/WordPress_SecureMode_01/wp-content/plugins/mailpoet/vendor/composer/autoload_real.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/RZphp71/includes’) in /mnt/web014/d2/23/57206023/htdocs/WordPress_SecureMode_01/wp-content/plugins/mailpoet/vendor/autoload.php on line 5

In another try it told me, the plugin has an invalid header.

I don’t want to delete the plugin and lose my address lists from MP 2. The strange thing is, that it worked just fine in the beginning. Now it broke my system and won’t install again…

    Any suggestions? Thank you!

Howdy, love MailPoet and I’m glad to see that 3 is out of beta, but I’m having a small problem.

I was a subscriber for a few months to the paid sending service and I was using it with Version 3.0 beta with the premium plugin installed. I stopped paying for sending several months ago. Today I updated my plugin to MailPoet 3.0 basic and deactivated the premium plugin because I plan to take advantage of the free sending service (I’m well under the 2,000 subs cap).

When I try to navigate to my emails (I had several in draft form) I get a message that says “All sending is currently paused. Your key to send with MailPoet is invalid. ” The interface will not let me access my existing and previously sent emails.

    Hi Kim,
The new version and it’s options look amazing! Great job!
Is MailPoet compatible with WooCommerce (I guess yes) and is it compatible with WPML? Is it possible to set up MailPoet to send different language newsletters to different users?
    Thanks!
