Oh my! Some of our users will be upset. A heart ache some in our team share.
The name change was due, simply because Wysija was…
- hard to spell
- unpronounceable by most
- a difficult acronym to remember: What You Send Is Just Awesome
- it even sparked a comment on ycombinator…
MailPoet is none of the above. It recalls the “Code is Poetry” tag line of WordPress. It’s short; three syllables. Easy to remember.
“Poet” is how we would like to imagine our users: masterfully typing down a digital message. Proof read, rewritten several times. Saved as a draft, until it feels just right. Your subject line is a killer: you know your open rate will rise. At least you bet against yourself it does.
Sent, and then read by hundreds, if not thousands. Emails are, above and foremost, about the meaning. Images are not worth a thousand words in emails, don’t be fooled.
So, is there a poet in you?
